Proposals for an economic response to Covid-19 in South Africa. In response to the economic hardship caused by the COVID crisis, the South African government has, as of 8 April 2020, committed R41 billion towards the COVID-19 relief measures, GDP contraction projected at -5%, up to 1 million jobs could be lost, South Africa’s development could potentially be set back by years.
