providing for those needs should you make a radical dietary change. Equally, understanding where possible deficiencies may lie is as important when choosing a different lifestyle.

Wendy Christien - 15 July 2021 - Non Meat Protein Options

Proteins are essential for optimal health and are necessary for multiple functions in our bodies. Proteins are important for the maintenance of a healthy body composition and to produce hair, blood, connective tissue, antibodies, and enzymes, however, meat is not the only dietary source of protein. Since animal proteins especially are highly acidic, intake for many of us can be minimized.

Wendy Christien - 8 July 2021 - Herbal Teas

Herbal teas can be brewed using the leaves, flowers, and fruit of certain plants, but herbs and spices also make great teas, and many can serve as natural remedies or just an enjoyable alternative to ordinary tea or coffee. Herbal teas provide a good way to increase your fluid intake over the winter months when drinking plain water can be more of a challenge.

Wendy Christien - 3 June 2021 - Myth #5 - All Yogurt is Healthy

While this is true that yoghurt can be healthy, not all
yoghurt is equal.
Yoghurt is made by mixing dairy milk or cream with live bacterial cultures
which allow for it to ferment. In this process the natural milk sugars (lactose)
are consumed by the organisms in the culture and lactic acid is formed which
allow for it to thicken and curdle and gives yoghurt its distinctive flavor. Good quality, pure yoghurt is a good source of protein, calcium, and good bacteria for the digestive system, which, as part of a balanced diet, can improve a person’s digestive function and overall health.
The addition of sugar, artificial sweeteners, and processing makes some
yoghurts unhealthy.

Wendy Christien - 13 May 2021 - Myth #4 - You will get sick from being cold or going outside with wet hair

Infections such as bacteria and viruses cause colds and flu’s, not cold weather or getting cold. Respiratory infections are more prevalent in the cooler months, but we are more likely to get sick because we are closed inside with others and therefore exposed to more germs than because of the cold weather.

Wendy shares more on the lymphatic system, the immune system, food, supplements and movement that boost the body's defenses.

Wendy Christien - 29 April 2021 - Myth #1 - Eggs Are Bad For Your Heart

Health Myth No 1:

Eggs are bad for your heart and will raise cholesterol

Although eggs are a source of cholesterol, they will not increase your
cholesterol levels. Eggs, in fact are healthy fats. Cholesterol is more likely to be raised by unhealthy fats and sugars. Eggs are high in omega 3 fatty acids, which are actually good for you and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Cholesterol is not all bad. Likewise, not all fat is bad. Fat is not the enemy,
unhealthy fats, refined carbs and sugars are.

Wendy Christien - 22 April 2021 - Why We Sleep

Have you ever wondered why you can’t wake up in the morning, but seem to
come alive at night? Or why you wake up with the sparrows, but shut down
early at night?
Everyone has a 24-hour circadian rhythm with peaks and troughs in
wakefulness that differ considerably from person to person.
