LISTEN NOW! I get to chat to Mitchell about his great new single!

His journey has taken him across the world, earning him the title of Global Best Male Vocalist at iPop in Los Angeles (2022), performing live in Times Square, New York, and appearing on iHeart Radio NY in 2023. South African artist Mitchell Godwin unveils his deeply personal and emotionally charged new single, ‘Ngizohamba', a song that blends heartfelt storytelling with the rich beauty of the isiZulu language. Born in 1997, Godwin’s lifelong passion for music began at the age of four, when he started vocal and piano lessons, reading music before he could read words.

Inspired by his mother’s fluency in isiZulu and his deep admiration for the language, Godwin crafted 'Ngizohamba' as an emotional and melodic expression of moving forward—leaving behind something beautiful yet knowing it’s necessary for personal growth. The song captures the raw essence of heartbreak, hope, and the human need for self-recognition, a theme many will relate to. Mitchell Godwin’s latest release solidifies his ability to create authentic, moving music that resonates across cultures. With his undeniable talent and passion, Ngizohamba is set to be a defining moment in his career.

Blending Afro-pop and contemporary South African ballad influences, ‘Ngizohamba' carries an emotive yet uplifting energy, with smooth melodic piano lines, atmospheric textures, and dynamic vocal delivery that captures the raw essence of heartbreak and self-discovery.
