BLACK, WHITE AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN – A SOUTH AFRICAN COMIC PODCAST SERIES - EPISODE 4

--:--
Jason Hes is a great graphic novelist, and we caught up way back when he published "Our Immaculate"
"He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked, and he shall rejoice. We shall all rejoice."

Twenty-four hours ago, Electra Almacy was dying to leave Our Immaculate Academy for good. Now - hunted by a demented blood cult and a primeval entity known only as the Boy with the Red Feet- she may actually die trying to escape.

Last night, Delphi Makholwe, the school's newly appointed head girl, thought that waking up to an unstable student standing naked at the foot of her bed was the worst thing that could happen to her. Now, tormented by an ancient ritual and a creature that shouldn't exist, she's about to encounter far worse things.

Forty-one years ago, Doctor Eva Hamilton, principal of Our Immaculate Academy, became consumed by a little boy who promised her paradise. Tonight, she'll spill as much blood as it takes to make sure his vision is realized."

"JASON HES - AUTHOR OF OUR IMMACULATE"

A while ago (I think maybe in 2015?) I decided to test out recording my first podcast series. Knowing that producing a passion project is the easiest when you have an actual passion for the subject material – I chose to look into different facets and people within the South African comic book industry.

Rules for podcasting are something we can definitely talk about later, but I wanted to put out a spot on my first journey into series podcasting.
If I had to advise you on one thing, it would be to keep it simple and safe for your first go – kinda like this short series.
I sourced different people in the industry that would allow me some really interesting conversations about what fanboys and girls would love to hear.

As you advance, you should implement the core principles of storytelling, and take your time in a mass load of pre and post-production. But again. This will be a conversation for a soon-to-be-published later date.

I just want to encourage everyone out there to tell their story. Your life is important and interesting, and it should be shared with the world. Find the pearls and make almanacs of your journey, in whatever you want to delve into.

And my guests were really cool. An artist, an influencer, a horror fiction author – and myself a panelist at the 2018 ICON Comic and Games Convention.

Please feel free to ask ANY questions about podcasting in the comments section and I will be glad to help out.

But in the meantime. Enjoy.
