On this week’s The DOC & The GURU Podcast, we chat purpose, generosity and goodness with Nadia Mohamed, the Marketing Director of Mondelez International (Africa) and how Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate is helping to build a better South Africa.
Armed with the very scary and sad statistic that there are over 2 million orphans in SA, Cadbury Dairy Milk used the power of its brand and marketing platforms, to appeal to the public for a small generous act that can have a huge life changing effect. With “The Little Generosity Shop”, over 100 000 toys, books and games were collected and distributed to a range of beneficiaries; giving “the precious gift of childhood”. This initiative was recognised in the Marketing Achievement Awards, with Cadbury being the deserved winner of the best purpose-led campaign.
Driven by the positive feedback, appreciation and desire to do even more, Cadbury Dairy Milk then followed it up with the launch of the Glass & A Half Project; There’s a Story in Everyone - offering hope to children through the power of storytelling. With the same motivation of building a better society, the Read To Succeed journey with “In Our Own Words” campaign was initiated and YOU can be part of its ongoing success!
