When Love Learns to Let Go – A Mother's Journey of Loss, Healing, and Faith

In this episode of Mother's Corner on Radio Cape Pulpit, host Barbara Jafter speaks with Christina – a mother, educator, public speaker, and founder of Tandem Fundo Schools – about her deeply personal journey of loss, healing, and learning to let go in love.

Christina shares her story: raised by her grandparents while her teenage mother completed her studies, she grew up with a deep awareness of the importance of a mother's love. She went on to build a family and career, opening multiple schools and instilling a "family heart" in her educational approach. But in 2024, she experienced the devastating loss of her eldest daughter, Ntsiki, at just 29 years old – a loss that came after her daughter had gone through a painful divorce.

Christina is honest about her grief: she was depressed, angry with God, and struggled to understand why this happened, especially after raising her daughter in the faith. Yet through prayer, scripture, and the support of her church community, she began to see God's divine pattern – just as with Joseph, David, and Abraham, God works through pain to fulfill His promises. She realized that healing did not mean forgetting, but carrying her love differently – and turning her pain into purpose.

She now uses her testimony to encourage other mothers to release their children into God's hands, to trust that He is close to the brokenhearted, and to remember that children are lent to us for a season. She shares practical advice: take your "treatment" daily – the Word of God as your tablet, and prayer as your water. Her legacy of Ntsiki lives on through the morning assemblies and teachings she left behind, which Christina now continues with renewed strength.
