: Biblical Leadership and Servant Oversight | Mark 10 Mission Leadership
Biblical missions rises or falls on biblical leadership. In this episode of Fantastic Friday with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni Bible Church, we examine Jesus’ model of servant leadership in Mark | 10:42–45 and Paul’s qualifications for overseers in 1 Timothy | 3:1–7. Together, these passages show that gospel ministry is not built upon worldly power, personal ambition, or charismatic personalities, but upon humble servants who reflect the character of Christ.
We will explore the contrast between worldly leadership and kingdom leadership, the importance of godly character in those who lead, and why biblical oversight is essential for the health of churches, mission organizations, and gospel workers. We will also consider how leadership impacts missionary care, doctrinal faithfulness, church planting, and the long-term advance of the gospel.
Featuring a ministry update from Sammy Labalo, pastor of Moletsane Baptist Church in Soweto and board member of Biblical Ministries South Africa, this episode highlights the practical importance of servant-hearted leadership in missions today.
Join us as we discover why faithful leadership is not about being served, but about serving others for the glory of Christ and the spread of His gospel among the nations. May it challenge us to pray for, support, and cultivate godly leaders in the church.
