Together Marriage, Mission, and Raising Leaders – Evangelism as a Family

In this episode of Couples of Destiny on Radio Cape Pulpit, host Terry Honey welcomes Lucinda from Save the World Foundation, an evangelism ministry that reaches five to six public schools daily in poor areas, preaching the gospel and counseling children. Lucinda shares her husband Jared's powerful testimony: as a Jewish man, no one shared the gospel with him for 18 years until a young Afrikaans boy did, leading Jared to research the prophecies in the Tanakh, become convinced that Jesus is the Messiah, and have a radical encounter where he fell to the floor under God's power. Lucinda grew up as a pastor's kid and worked as a chartered accountant in London before taking one year to serve in Jared's ministry – a year that became a lifetime, teaching her that calling often begins in hidden places and that couples should be like Ruth in the fields, busy with the Lord's work while Boaz finds them. She explains how to protect a marriage while carrying a demanding kingdom assignment: guard your thoughts against the enemy's accusations, keep the wolves out by avoiding people who don't honour your marriage, schedule intimacy and connection even when it's not romantic, and include children in the ministry by asking for their input and letting them share testimonies so they own the vision rather than feeling overlooked. Lucinda concludes that marriage is not a feeling but a covenant commitment, and when trials come, couples must walk through them, get help, and remember that Jesus has already overcome.
