: The Geneva Bible (1560)
In this opening session on the Geneva Bible with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni Bible Church, we trace its origins to the fires of persecution under Mary I and the refuge of John Calvin’s Geneva. Standing on the work of William Tyndale and others, the translators laboured in Hebrew and Greek to produce a Bible for the people—clear, accessible, and grounded in the God-breathed Scriptures (Psalm 119:130; 2 Timothy 3:16–17, LSB). We also consider how theology shaped its notes while the translation itself aimed at fidelity to the text. A powerful reminder: God’s Word advances—even through exile—and calls us to read, trust, and live it today. #MemorableMonday #GenevaBible #ChurchHistory #Reformation #BibleTranslation #SolaScriptura #WordOfGod #JohnCalvin #WilliamTyndale #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTruth #ScriptureAlone
