Bo-Kaap buries first COVID-19 patient

We received very sad news this weekend of the passing of an 81-year-old Bo Kaap woman, aunty Kulsum Cassiem - who died due to the coronavirus. Aunty Kulsum had been hospitalised and was isolation this week. We understand that she was laid to rest in the early hours of Sunday morning and the janazah had to be done immediately due to the high risk of infection. To talk us through this is Sh Ismail Londt, imam at Awwal Masjid in Dorp Street,who was part of the proceedings.
