Free State agri department urges people to get tested if they attended Kroonstad cattle auction

It is business as usual in the agricultural industry in the Free State with little challenges at this stage facing the industry. This is according to William Bulwane, MEC of Agriculture and Rural Development who emphisised agriculture is classified as an essential service by government during the national state of lock down in government's effort to prevent the spread of the Covid-19-pandemic. Bulwane says there are now more focus on farm workers as well and the department has met with three local agricultural organisations representing farmers in the province to discusses the approach that needs to be followed regarding among others safety measure on farms during the national lock down. These organisations include among others Free State Agriculture, and the African Farmers Association of South Africa, Afasa.
