Supply of affordable housing not able to keep up with demand

The cost of housing increasing drastically over the past few years. The chances of owning a conventional house remains slim for low income households. Now according to a recent repory published on Online job aggregator Adzuna the average cost for a convetional house amongst 8 cities across South Africa ranges from 1 milliom rand to 5 million rand with Cape Town property value being the highest. However a 2018 report conducted by the Centre for Affordable Housing Finance reveals that there is a greater beed for affordable residential property.
