Children’s Commissioner nominations to be published on 9 October

The list of nomination for the position of the Children’s Commissioner is set to be published on 9 October 2019 for objections by the public.This comes after The Western Cape Provincial Parliament Standing Committee on Social Development received a total of 59 applications for the position.
Now the process of establishing a Western Cape Commissioner for Children is supported by various NGO advocating for the protection of children in the province where more than 900 child murders has been reported in the past five years. The role of the commissioner will also be to promote the interests of children in the province regarding, health, education, welfare recreation and sports.
