Gill Raine is a senior policy advisor at ASISA, chairing the Standing Committee on Fixed Income and is a member of the Financial Markets Review Committee and the Market Practices Group. She has a financial markets career that has spanned over 30 years, from pre Basel I to Basel IV as well as pre- and post the prescribed asset regime. She has worked on various infrastructure transactions including the N1 and N3 toll roads. This included the structuring and arranging of the first inflation linked debt for the N1 toll road. She also advised National Treasury on the primary issuance of its inflation linked debt in 2000. Gill spent over two decades with the FirstRand group until 2015, for the last five years in group treasury where she managed new issuances of capital instruments marketed to a global investor base. Previously, she worked extensively in fixed income, arranging various debt instruments and structured funding instruments for clients including securitisations.
Gill holds an MA in economics from the University of Chicago and degrees in economics, statistics and mathematics from the University of Cape Town
