CoCT and QFS in legal battle over V&A desalination plant

Now the desalination plant on the Waterfront that was developed as part of the City of Cape Town’s plans to avert Day Zero is no longer producing any water. This as a result of a legal dispute between Quality Filter Systems (QFS) and the City of Cape Town over money the City was meant to pay to the company. Now QFS won one of the City’s tenders and has funded the installation of the Waterfront desalination plant however the service provider plans to sue the City for roughly R20 million.
