
IEC: Capetonians must register to vote

Last week Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)approved election deposits for parties contesting the national and provincial elections this year. Which require each party to pay a fee of 200-thousand-Rands and 45-thousand-Rands in order to contest the 2019 national elections.
The amount was confirmed at the provincial election launch in Cape Town last week ahead of IEC final voter registration this weekend. According to the IEC, more than 3 million people are registered to vote in the province. With more than 100 political parties registered to take part in the general elections this year,
