Tribute: Remembering Zubair Esau
--:--
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
It is with immense sadness that VOC has learnt of the tragic passing of Zubair Esau, one of the young cast members in The Unwanted Guest theatre production. Zubair, who was 18 years old, died in a horrific vehicle collision in Green Point on Sunday morning, 20 January. Zubair was the occupant of a sedan which collided with a motorcyle. The accident also claimed the lives of a 3 year old boy and the 33 year old motorcyclist. Zubair started interning at VOC when he was only 15 years old, and displayed great confidence and ambition. He showed a huge interest in learning about radio. He was the son of former VOC presenter Ghikmah Esau (seen in the pic below). Staff members will remember his friendly and outgoing personality.
