Blok developers to halt construction in Bokaap until next court date
--:--
Yesterday the Western Cape High Court called for the suspension of the development plans by Property company Blok in Bo-Kaap. This includes prohibiting cranes from entering the construction site in 40 Lion Street until the next court date is determined.
Approximately 50 people gathered outside the Western High Court in support of the Bo-kaap Cvic and rates payer’s association, who say they are defending the heritage and dignity of the Bo-Kaap.This comes after an interdict was granted last month preventing the community from interfering with construction work in Lion Street.
