Muslims throughout the world travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regularly for umrah pilgrimage, are now required to pay an additional SR2000. The fee for South African mutamireen is equivalent to nearly R8000 and was recently implemented by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, on Muharram 1, 1440.
The changes forms part of the new visa regulations and applies to individuals that have performed umrah within a 5 year period.
