Imam Haron family hopeful as Ahmed Timol case pave the way for investigating similar deaths of anti apartheid activist

Now we recently spoke to the family of murdered anti-apartheid activist, Ahmed Timol, about the major significance of the National Prosecuting Authority’s decision to charge, Joao Rodrigues, who was a security police officer during the apartheid regime.
This after the Pretoria High Court last year found, Timol died at the hands of apartheid police while in detention in 1971.
Rodrigues briefly appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates court earlier this week, he was granted bail and the case was postponed to September for pre-trial proceedings.
The Timol case has been described by Legal experts as ground breaking, especially for the investigations similar deaths.
