World Disability Day was celebrated last week, but celebration alone doesn’t equal assimilation. The deeper challenge is whether society has truly learned to live alongside people with disabilities without casting them as outsiders. Inclusion is not about pity or symbolic gestures—it’s about dismantling the subtle ways we treat disabled individuals as pariahs. The question remains: are we willing to confront our biases, reshape our environments, and build communities where belonging is the norm rather than the exception?
