‘I think one of the big things that credit providers have done is they've gone and made these lump sum big expenses look cheap by turning them into a monthly instalment,’ says financial journalist, Maya Fisher-French.
‘Although there are only about 400 centi-millionaires in Africa, if you were to take those 400 people away, it would completely destroy the middle class, for instance, because most of the big companies in Africa were started by those centi-millionaires,’ says Andrew Amolis, head of research at New World Wealth.
‘We are going to come up with a proposal to say, people in this kind of pay grade should not be covered by the RAF, but rich people for now, we're just saying should not be covered by the RAF,’ says McIntosh Polela, Road Accident Fund spokesperson.
