South Africa’s inflation jumped marginally higher in August, following four months of consecutive declines. According to Stats SA, annual consumer inflation jumped from 4.7% in July to 4.8% in August. Although food and non-alcoholic beverages (NAB) inflation continued to drop, it was not enough to counteract the rise in fuel prices and increases in municipal tariffs.
