Dr Illana Links, a psychiatric registrar at Dora Nginza Hospital in Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth), was one among the first, of the country’s COVID-19 frontline doctors, to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in February this year. She tells us what having her vaccine has meant to her, and shares how knowing that the vaccine meant protection from serious COVID-19 illness made a huge difference to her outlook.
