"I'm Starting To Understand Gavin's Frustration”

All eyes will be on Orlando Stadium on Saturday 30th of January when Kaizer Chiefs visit Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby. The two sides have experienced ups and downs this season with Pirates ending a six-year trophy drought by claiming the MTN8 trophy and Chiefs reaching the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time in the club's history. However, both teams have struggled for consistency in the DStv Premiership, with the Buccaneers and the ‘Glamour Boys’ both sitting eight and twelve points behind Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

Amakhosi have enjoyed an uptick in form recently and haven't been beaten in five League matches which has seen them rise to 7th on the league table when they were at 14th just a few weeks ago. While Chiefs have earned praise through the efforts of their young talent and some standout performances from senior players there has also been a lot of criticism for certain players who do not fit the mould of a championship team. In the latest episode of the SL Podcast’s “The Carwash” with former Pirates & Bafana Bafana midfielder Teko Modise and former Ajax Cape Town & Sundowns goalie Sean Roberts, Modise states that he is beginning to understand Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt’s dilemma at Naturena. The two-time PSL Player of the Season award winner claims that Hunt doesn't have the personnel to achieve his vision at the moment.

In the Carwash's Soweto Derby Preview, Modise breaks down why Pirates should win the midfield battle and why their defence may have issues.
