Cart gate: KZN weighs in on when they do their grocery shopping

Is it better or cheaper to shop for groceries once a month or every week? Many South Africans braved the shopping malls this weekend to do their monthly grocery shopping. Added to that, it was also the weekend of Black Friday, with plenty of hopefuls on the search for incredible deals.

Stacey Norman was on the hunt for great savings this weekend as well, but not for goods that would be deemed essential items, instead the fashion lover was doing some online shopping for new clothes!

J Sbu, on the other hand, was playing driver for his mom and sister who were doing the Nxumalo family monthly grocery shop. The Nxumalos believe in bulk buying when it comes to groceries, that means following a list.

J Sbu shares that he and his family have been doing this for as long as he can remember.

His mom believes that bulk buying helps with the family expenses versus running out every week to purchase something. Her son, J Sbu, disagrees, though. For J Sbu, who is a bachelor, he does not believe in bulk buying - in fact he thinks bulk buying groceries is a waste of money.
