Blom Blom with Joseph 'Duku Duku' Makhanya, Orlando Pirates legend

Makhanya will always be remembered for a great 11 years at Orlando Pirates and for scoring a winning goal against Kaizer Chiefs. The Dobsonville-born former star spent hung up his boots after the 2012/13 season while at Moroka Swallows, aged only 33. He won the league title twice with Pirates in 2000/01 and 2002/03 as well as the MTN8 trophy three times – twice with Pirates and once with Swallows in 2012. 'Dukuduku' once scored the only goal to win a Soweto Derby against Pirates' biggest rivals Kaizer Chiefs on 1 May 2004.

Joseph Makhanya Tournament: The soccer tournament was established in the year 2009 with the sole purpose of giving young soccer players an opportunity to showcase their talent. (There’s a Facebook page, not sure if he’s involved in it or what)
