What do you do when someone apologies for something they've done repeatedly?

On Tuesday afternoon, Stacey & JSbu asked KZN: ‘What do you do when someone apologises for something they've said that hurts your feelings, but do the same thing again and again and again?' - and the flood gates of emotions opened.

What happens though when you are dealing with someone who refuses to acknowledge that they have hurt you and that they need to apologise? The burden of carrying the load of waiting for someone to apologise to you can be draining, especially if you are owed an apology by someone very near and dear to you.
