Sundowns ‘B’ Team Could Win The League

With the return of the PSL being approved by Sports & Recreation Minister Nathi Mthethwa, the title race between Kaizer Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns is on everyone’s mind. Amakhosi lead the premiership standings with 48 points, 4 ahead of Masandawana who have a game in hand. The health & fitness levels of their squads will be under a microscope, and if European leagues are anything to go by, fans can expect to see injuries and fatigue when matches commence again. This means squad depth will play a major role in the PSL’s finale.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns & Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Sean Roberts did not mince his words when explaining why Sundowns are a major threat to Chiefs in the titles race. Speaking on The Carwash podcast, Roberts stated “In terms of depth, in terms of quality that you’ve got on the bench, Sundowns ‘B’ team could easily win the PSL as well. I’d be very disappointed to see Chiefs throw it away after all the hard work they’ve done but in terms of depth, without a doubt Sundowns [could win].”
