#OFMArtBeat - Musuem Moments: Oliewenhuis Art Museum virtual walk-about

Since the beginning of South Africa's lockdown, the country's leading fine art auction house Strauss & Co have been rapidly innovating to take their extensive art expertise online. Their afternoon 'Virtual Art Talks' series hosted on Zoom is now a permanent calendar fixture, bringing together audiences from not only South Africa, but the world, to learn about South African art history from Strauss & Co's own team of art consultants and experts as well as special guests.
Every Wednesday at 16:00 the series highlights a local museum in the weekly Museum Moments talk. The Museum Moments talks seek to shed light on interesting museum spaces from across the country that may otherwise be neglected in the public imagination during lockdown. The talks highlight the marvellous collections contained within these spaces and museum curators discuss the stories they strive to share with the public through these collections and how they have been brought together. I chat to Educational Officer at Oliewenhuis Art Musuem, Yolanda de Kock about what we can expect during their virtual walk-about on the 24th of June 2020.
