As South Africa celebrates 10 years since the FIFA World Cup was hosted in Mzansi, former Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise dishes on his experience at the camp and how the team reacted to Benni McCarthy’s infamous snub from the final squad. This comes after Benni McCarthy’s candid interview with the SA Football Journalists Association (Safja) in which he revealed the motive behind his 2010 FIFA World Cup snub

“Yes, it was heartbreaking, the fact that Benni wasn’t there, because we knew what he would bring, especially to us the younger ones,” Modise said on The Carwash Podcast. “I don’t remember losing a game with Benni on the pitch, for the national team”, he continued, “I don’t think Benni was given that fair chance”.
