Day 49 of the National Lockdown and the fight against COVID-19 is ongoing with anticipation of tough time ahead as the winter season is fast approaching us. On Tuesday we witnessed a beautiful candle lighting ceremony to recognise and honour the role of Nurses on their special day, International Nurses Day. Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize together with all 9 provincial MECs held a virtual ceremony with nurses from all provinces where they were thanked for the role they play in the fight against COVID-19 and also encouraged to soldier on to save the lives of South Africans against the deadly virus. KwaZulu Natal’ daily record of new cases is now more than 20.
