Albie Sachs pays tribute to Ben Turok

--:--
We continue our tribute interviews on Prof Ben Turok, who passed away yesterday at age 92 years old. Prof Turok was the sole surviving member of the 1960s Communist Party underground leadership, author of the ‘economic clause’ in the Freedom Charter, champion of the RDP and one of the most consistent and outspoken intellectuals, and critics, of the ANC. He recently served as director of the Institute for African Alternatives (IFAA) and was the editor of the journal New Agenda.

Former constitutional court judge Albie Sachs and Prof Turok was involved in gathering thousands of statements from all over the country on thousands of small pieces of paper for what was to become the Freedom Charter. The two became very close friends over the decades and Judge Albie joins us this afternoon to speak more about their interesting friendship
