Commissioned by the Nobel Peace Centre in Norway, the bench launched [18th July 2019] in celebration of Nelson Mandela Day. It is inspired by a Madiba quote that reads: "The best weapon is to sit down and talk." The Best Weapon is designed as a partial circle that meets the ground at its lowest point with the gentle arc of the bench pulling those sitting on it closer together. This is not Snohetta's first project in honour of a South African Nobel laureate.
