#HeartStuff: 8-year-old girl gets a special birthday surprise

We got a touching email from a little girl's parents who couldn't afford a cake for her birthday, and #HeartStuff came up with an amazing idea.

A birthday is not complete without a cake, and that's all that Maine's parents wished for her on her birthday.

Johan Fick sent us an e-mail asking if we could make their daughter's day special by getting her a birthday cake. The Johan family has gone through a lot this past year, making life a little difficult for them.

We contacted our old friend Master chef winner, Roxi Wardman, owner of Spoonful Eatery if she could whip up something delectable for the little girl.
