40 Years of Love: Jean Williams' Legacy of Caring for 200 Children in Her Community

Loading player...
In this episode of Community Matters on Radio K Pulpit, host Jean Morris interviews Jean Williams, who founded a crèche in February 1984 and spent 40 years nurturing children in her community. Starting with just 8 children, the crèche grew to care for 200 children over the years. Jean shares how she felt called by the Holy Spirit to start the crèche, the challenges of transporting children safely, and the importance of prayer and teaching children Psalm 23. She is joined by her daughter, Pastor Authia, who reflects on growing up in the crèche, driving and teaching the children, and the changing values between generations, especially the impact of technology and the loss of family time. Jean explains she closed the crèche in December 2024 because 40 years is a significant biblical number and she felt it was the right season to let go. The episode highlights themes of love, trust, community, and leaving a spiritual legacy.
