You Were Not an Accident: The 7 Laws of Your God-Given Assignment

In this episode of She Excels on Radio Cape Pulpit, host Amy Sone delivers a powerful message titled "You Were Not an Accident," drawing inspiration from Dr. Cindy Trimm's book Goodbye Yesterday. Amy opens with Genesis 1:16–17, noting that God made the sun and moon not merely to exist but with specific assignments—the sun to rule by day, the moon to govern the night. If God gave assignments to creation, she asks, what about the people He created? She then begins a two-part journey through the 14 laws of assignment from Dr. Trimm's book, covering the first seven in this episode:

Everything in the universe has an assignment – Everything God created was designed to fulfill a specific purpose that brings glory to Him (Psalm 19:1–6).

Every person on earth has an assignment – You are God's idea, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and like Adam, Eve, Noah, Moses, and Paul (Colossians 1:1), you have a designated duty to perform.

Assignments are geospecific – There is a prophetic grid, a "zip code," for where you are to fulfill your assignment. Like Abraham, you may need to leave your comfort zone for the land God will show you.

Assignments are time specific – Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us there is a season and a time for every purpose. Delays and disobedience have negative repercussions.

You must choose to fulfill your assignment – Many are called, but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14). God calls, but you must say yes.

Assignments are success oriented – God does not call you to fail. He guarantees success as He defines it (Joshua 1:8). Success is the sum of small efforts done repeatedly.

Assignments are others focused – Your assignment has an impact on the world. Amy shares the story of a pilot saved by a parachute packed by someone whose "small" job mattered eternally.

Amy closes with a prayer of repentance for treating life as an accident, declarations of purpose, and an invitation to tune in next week for the remaining seven laws. She encourages listeners to download the Radio Cape Pulpit app, connect via WhatsApp at 0817 2916 57, or email info@radiopulpit.co.za, and reminds them: "You are not too ordinary, too early, too late, or too far away for what God has assigned you to."
