COSATU marches over jobs and wages

COSATU and its affiliates are staging nationwide marches and pickets over retrenchments, low wages, casualisation of work and concerns about workers’ rights. The federation says around 40% of workers still earn below the National Minimum Wage and is calling for stronger enforcement of labour laws and 10,000 additional labour inspectors.
