The Suzuki Griquas will be hosting the Pumas in a major final for the second time this year when they two bitter-rivals go to battle in Kimberley on Saturday.
This time the Peacock Blues will host the team from the Lowveld in the final of the Currie Cup, and it’s a repeat of the historic championship game in the Diamand City a little over four years ago. On the day, the Pumas spoilt the party with a 26-19 victory to win the Currie Cup for the first time.
Griquas coach, Pieter Bergh, told OFM Sport that beating the Lions wasn’t easy, despite what the scoreline suggests, but his is thrilled that they have managed to secure a home final.
