Fresh hopes for ending conflict in the Middle East emerged after the first round of US-Iran negotiations concluded with what mediators described as “encouraging progress”. The talks produced a proposed roadmap towards a final agreement within 60 days, alongside commitments aimed at easing regional tensions, securing key shipping routes and advancing efforts to end fighting in Lebanon.
