The 40-year-old Griffons hooker, Simon Westraadt, is set for an unexpected return to the Pumas after being named on the bench for Friday afternoon’s Toyota Challenge opener against Georgia's Black Lion in Bloemfontein.
Westraadt, who previously represented the Pumas with distinction, answered an SOS call from head coach Jimmy Stonehouse to bolster the back-to-back SA Cup champions during the international tournament.
Westraadt told OFM Sport that he did not hesitate when Stonehouse came calling, although he first sought the blessing of Griffons coach Jacques Juries.
