Questions are mounting in Parliament over the controversial classification of IPID’s Phala Phala report, with Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia insisting there was no political interference from the ministry. The report, which probed how police handled the alleged theft of $580 000 from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm, found serious failures by senior officers, including Major General Wally Rhoode. Now MPs want answers on why the report was classified in the first place. Phemelo gets reaction from Portfolio Committee on Police chairperson Ian Cameron.
