Anger is boiling over in Lenasia, where Phumlamqashi residents have shut down the Golden Highway demanding clean, running water. Burning tyres and debris brought traffic to a standstill, as residents say they’ve been without reliable supply since late 2024. JoJo tanks have been rejected, with claims the water is unsafe and making people sick. Now, the community says it’s ready to pay - but wants proper meters and a dignified, consistent water supply.
