Tensions are escalating in the Middle East as the war involving Israel, the United States and Iran enters its 17th day. Israel has launched fresh strikes on Tehran, while drone incidents in the Gulf briefly disrupted flights at Dubai International Airport. Saudi Arabia says it has also intercepted drones, with attacks reported in Iraq and Lebanon. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of spreading disinformation about the conflict using artificial intelligence. Phemelo speaks to MISTRA senior researcher Na’eem Jeenah.
