US Sanctions Rwanda Over DRC Conflict/Middle East Conflict
Loading player...
The United States has imposed sanctions on the Rwanda Defence Force and senior military officials over their alleged role in the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Washington is calling for Rwandan troops to withdraw from the mineral-rich region. Meanwhile, tensions are also rising in the Middle East, with renewed calls to rethink military arrangements in the Gulf region. Phemelo speaks to Senior Research Fellow at Africa Asia Dialogues, Thembisa Fakude.
