The Greater Giyani Municipality has defended the appointment of Masindi Raliphada as its new Chief Financial Officer. Her appointment has been met with hostility from some residents who are saying the predominantly Tsonga speaking municipality should have appointed a local person. The municipality says it is disappointed in the tribalistic undertones of the criticism. Still on this, the ANC Women's League in Limpopo says tribalism does not have a place in the province and should be condemned as and when it rears its ugly head. Nghamula Chauke spoke to Greater Giyani Municipality Spokesperson Steven Mavundza and ANCWL Limpopo Secretary Tebogo Mamorobela.
