Johannesburg residents are being warned to expect low water pressure and possible outages as Rand Water begins planned maintenance this Saturday. Johannesburg Water says it is ready, unveiling a new water tanker fleet to cushion affected communities. The phased shutdown - running from December 13 to 15, December 19 to 21 and January 6 to 8 - will restrict bulk supply for the next four weeks. Areas linked to the Palmiet, Zwartkopjes, Daleside and Eikenhof systems, including Midrand, Sandton, Soweto and Orange Farm, are expected to feel the impact. Phemelo speaks to Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo.
