Lumanyano “Mzi” Bizana is a South African-born, New York-based award-winning drummer, composer, producer, and bandleader. He began drumming at age six and is influenced by reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.

He studied at the South African College of Music (UCT) and later at Berklee College of Music, graduating in 2024. Known for his dynamic, collaborative style, he has performed with artists such as Larry Klein, Sona Jobarteh, Terry Lyne Carrington, Kris Davis, and Freshly Ground.

Now based in New York, Lumanyano continues to innovate and grow on the global music scene.
