IN CONVERSATION WITH Shadrack Tlhaole EFF chair person in the Northern Cape

--:--
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Northern Cape are moving ahead with a planned protest march to the offices of Premier Dr. Zamani Saul later this month. The march is intended to express the party’s continued opposition to the existence of the town of Orania within the province.

Despite recent talks between the EFF, the Orania Movement, and the Freedom Front Plus (FFPlus), no agreement was reached. The EFF is calling on the government to re-evaluate its position on Orania’s right to self-determination, arguing that South Africans of all races should be able to live together while preserving their cultural identities.

The discussion, which brought together leaders from all three groups, followed the EFF’s call for both provincial and national governments to reconsider the legal and social standing of Orania. The EFF maintains that Orania’s existence represents a form of racial segregation and should be abolished.
