Joburg Deeds Office will be relocated within six weeks

A decision has been made to relocate the Johannesburg Deeds Office to an alternative building within six weeks. Sibusiso Ndzala, the Johannesburg organising/marketing officer for the Public Servants Association (PSA), said on Tuesday this follows a meeting between the Director-General of the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) and the Chief Registrar of Deeds, management and PSA on Monday where it was agreed that the occupational health and safety (OHS) issues with the building “will persist as long as deeds employees remain in the current building”. “This move aims to ensure a safe working environment and restore normal service delivery,” he said. Phemelo speaks to DA MP and member of the Portfolio Committee on Land Reform and Rural Development Bonginkosi Madikizela who visited the building earlier this week.
